The folks at Pickering (which was at that time recently acquired by Stanton) had just released the XSV-3000, and the sales guys at Stanton were pissed that they didn't have the same level of performing cartridge in their stable.
So, Stanton simply released the XSV-3000 clothed as an 881S. The styli are interchangeable between the 881S and the XSV-3000. "
