pkg_chk -uをしていると、

ERROR: postgresql83-client-8.3.4 conflicts with installed package(s):
ERROR: postgresql82-client-8.2.10
ERROR: They install the same files into the same place.
ERROR: Please remove conflicts first with pkg_delete(1).
のように、あるパッケージを削除するように促されるのですが、削除しようとすると
依存関係で色々と削除しなくてはいけなくなります。

これを回避する方法はありませんか？

該当パッケージを、 make updateすることもできません。
