I think that the role of the University of the Air in Japan cannot be understood if it is thought of as being primarily a means of formal instruction.
If it is so thought of ,it will be overrated .
It is overrated because the figures of hundreds of thousands of its students dazzle persons who don't know it well.
It will be justly rated if the academic standards of them are compared with those of highly selective college students.
If they are to be judged by their academic accomplishments, they will be judged severely.
It is natural that they are so judged, for they are not doing more than nothing there.
Studying there means training for self-deceiving as well as killing time.
They have become more and more adjusted to its deceptive absurdities, undertaking to do more than it,coming near to self-destructive conflict.
